Current Research
I pursued my Ph.D. at the University of Illinois at Chicago (USA) focusing my attention in the neurosteroid biosynthesis and how stress can alter this biosynthesis and affect animal and human behaviors. Currently, I continue growing as a neuroscientist at the European Neuroscience Institute at Goettingen (Germany). My studies are oriented to understand the cognitive impairment associated with anxiety disorders and Alzheimer’s disease from an "epigenetic" point of view.
